Study Abroad in Summer Vacation: Home Stay

I would like to talk about Home stay. When you are in Toronto in Canada, you can stay with a family. Maybe you have an image that Canadian people have a white skin and blue eyes or bright hairs. But those images are stereotyped one. Actually a lot of people from other country live in Canada, and they has a various religions. So please do not think all Canadian are white people. Probably there is strong possibility that your host mother and host father will not native Canadian. In fact may host mother was a Philippina.
Next, I will give you some interesting information of Canada. The Canadian likes Second cup more than Starbucks coffee. Second cup is a Canadian coffee shop. It is cheaper than Starbucks and popular by Canadian. In addition Canadian also likes Tim Horton. Tim Horton is a kind of coffee shop and it is similar to Mr. Donates in Japan. This shop has a many sweets, drink and bread, and what’s more, Tim Horton is adjacent to the Toronto University that you will go. You can buy it 16cents each usually people buy it 20 or 40 at a time. When you order 10 Tim Bits, in this case you can buy it 1doller and 6 cents. It is same to 160 yen or cheaper.
You please practice before starting on home stay to be able to make Japanese foods. In the middle of home stay, let’s treat dinner for a family with all the feeling of thanks.

Manners

The manner is wisdom that people’s care minds for feel cozy each other. It is not a strict rule, but you need to know it. It is a kind of role. Fundamental life habit emphasizes the importance of greeting. For example, in the classroom, if you say “hello” to your classmates and classmates replayed to you, you would be happier than being silent or pay no attention each other. Please say “hello” or something to your classmate.

If you want to have a good relationship with Japanese, you have to follow the rule of the Japanese society and invisible rule like a collection of garbage by type. Japanese garbage rule has a lot of regulation. You should observe the day, the time and the place. And you must not bring domestic garbage in the convenience store. It is a morel rather than a rule. Why not keep the moral and the law as member of the region?

You, International student need to keep a silent in the night because Japanese people don’t have any parties like you. And some people are annoyed by the noise. Moreover they cannot make a complaint about it to you, even though they feel sick o it actually. This is Japanese basic character, we cannot complain directly. You need to notice those nonverbal sign of the people.

It brings us the real feeling of autumn.
